Tiago Espresso Bar + Kitchen, site for pop-up 'this is not a pop up,' will soon land a more permanent chef when Phillip Lee (most recently at D'Cache) introduces Scratch Bar @ Tiago on May 14. Although Tiago will continue breakfast and lunch service under Lee's direction (menus will be revamped in the next two to three weeks), the chef is focusing on full service dinner offered Monday through Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. He's in talks to bring on Joel David Miller (chef de cuisine at Cleo) as chef de cuisine and Ryan Duval (former sous at D'Cache and Animal) as sous and head baker.
A few trial dinners are planned for the end of April, but the first real chance to try Scratch Bar will be at Flavors of Los Angeles on May 5. Lee adds, "this concept will not be a pop up." [EaterWire]
