41 Ocean, that new beachside members only club on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, is now two and a half months old. And, about three weeks ago, March 18 to be precise, the Spanish Colonial-designed lounge lost its celebrity chef, Chris Crary, who decamped from his chef de cuisine post at Whist to take 41 Ocean's executive chef role. Which brings us to Raphael Lunetta, chef/owner of JiRaffe in Santa Monica. Per the 41 Ocean website, Lunetta has replaced Crary as the restaurant's executive chef.
In other news, Crary is taking some time off from restaurant kitchens to cook on the upcoming Top Chef cruise. He'll also prepare a casual dinner party at home for $100 a head via Kitchit. [EaterWire]
