Eats at State Social House, Now Opening Early June

State Social House, the imminent restaurant and bar bringing new life to Isla Cantina and Red Rock on Sunset, is now set to launch in early June. Former Pink Taco executive chef Vernon Cardenas has been honing his fusion pubby menu, which ranges in price from $7 to $15, and includes crispy spiced wings with celery leaf salad and crumbled Roquefort; duck fat truffle fries with melted brie; whiskey sliders with Jameson onion jam, baby arugula, Gruyère and "special sauce." To cut through those rich plates, each of the venue's four bars will be equipped with 20 beers on tap, in addition to a list of seasonal cocktails and wine. Live music is planned for the upstairs Piano Bar, meanwhile downstairs The Backroom will serve as a cigar lounge, selling smokes $8 and up.
