Well, this was bound to happen. With Jonathan Gold at the Times and his Gold Standard tasting event no more, now comes Bite Nite, "an intimate tasting event hosted by Gold and featuring more than 20 hand-selected restaurants" on May 21 at The Atrium at LA Times, says a release. Bite Night is supposed to coincide with the Times' release of its first dining guide, Jonathan Gold's 101 Best Restaurants, shortly thereafter on May 23. Here's the catch though. Tickets to Bite Nite, which cost $101, will only be open to Times members when they go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 8. So far some of the participating eateries are Sqirl, Alma, Bestia, The Hart & the Hunter, ink., Kogi, Mozza, Night + Market, and more. [EaterWire]
