Connie & Ted's Moving Full Steam Ahead in WeHo

New, 3 comments

Connie & Ted's, the hotly anticipated sea-centric 140-seat "shack" from chef Michael Cimarusti of Providence fame, is coming together for its May debut. LAT chats with Cimarusti and learns that here the kitchen will be run by Providence chef de cuisine Sam Baxter and the bar, with its 24 taps, guided by barista turned bartender Laura Lindsay (Intelligentsia, 1886). Cimarusti wants to focus on classic seafood preps, and patrons can "expect two kinds of lobster rolls, fried fish sandwiches, oysters Rockefeller, clam steamers and stuffies (linguica- and breadcrumb-stuffed Quahog clams)" with "traditional sauces." A total of 16 oyster varietals are planned for the raw bar and live lobster tanks will stock crustaceans. Land animals to be served in the form of burgers and steaks, with all bread baked in house.
