Tom Elliott and Spoon Singh, the duo behind Venice Ale House, are about to debut their second beachside watering hole, Bank of Venice, taking over the short lived Dry Tour Wine Bar/Code space at the corner of Windward and Pacific. Chef Jason Feehrer of British Columbia's Sooke Harbor House and Hawaii's Palm Cafe is serving a Pacific Rim meets the Pacific Northwest menu of organic, sustainable and GM-free proteins and veg from meatloaf and mac and cheese to seared scallops and carnitas tacos.
There will be a few more fish-centric dishes like catch-of-the-day ceviche and mussels Sauvignon from Carlsbad. Other comfort food items include bangers & mash, shrimp & bacon quesadillas, and nachos del blanco. Perfect for the local crowd, they'll be serving food until midnight on weekdays and 2 a.m. on weekends.
Along with the food, there's also 30 local beers on tap, more than 24 California wines, and a selection of fresh fruit cocktail infusions for intoxicants. Grand opening to the public is scheduled for this Friday.
