The Line in Koreatown is Already Starting to Book Rooms

New, 2 comments
Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

As noted on the Instagram account of chef Roy Choi, it looks like The Line, the hotel project headed by the The Sydell Group (NoMad, NYC), is finally starting to get in gear. The hotel's website is already showing reservations available for the month of September, with average room rates at just under $300 a night. In past months it looked like construction crews had been clearing out the ground floor of the property.

With most of the work at Choi's new Chego outlet in Chinatown completed, the chef will be focusing his efforts on overseeing the hotel's food and beverage program. Considering Choi's experience at the Beverly Hilton a few years back, this seems like a job up his alley. Meanwhile, the Houston brothers (La Descarga, Pour Vous) will organize a cocktail bar and lounge. Originally slated to open this summer, The Line's reservations system shows some evidence that things are on track to be completed within the next few months.
