Meet TWIST Eatery and Bakery, a cute new cafe on La Brea from owner Joelle Bercovitch, daughter to Charles Malka, CEO and founder of the Charles David shoe empire. And my my, does this resemble nearby Sycamore Kitchen.
Bercovitch and chef de cuisine Anna Statman spent the last two years developing their internationally-inspired comfort food recipes on offer for breakfast and lunch, from a Moroccan spiced salmon to a pulled brisket sandwich. Here one will find a slew of prepared salads, bowls, plus burgers and hot/cold sandwiches. A few breakfast plates are served too, along with a selection of baked goods. Twist opens May 20 at 8 a.m. Weekend brunch to come.
