Pa Ord Expands, Portola Coffee Lab at Provisions, More!

MID-CITY—Both a tipster and LAT note that Thai hidden gem and J.Gold boat noodle fave, Pa Ord, has opened a second location: "Thai Foon in the strip mall on Sunset and La Brea has become the second location of Pa Ord Noodle. The Thai Foon sign is still up, but there is a banner below that announcing the grand opening of Pa Ord Noodle. I also just called the Thai Foon number and confirmed it is indeed Pa Ord. I don't really know that I should tell anyone about this since it's a block from my house and I don't want it to be overrun. Oh well." [Eater Inbox]

WEST LA— Jonathan Gold wrote an article for the current issue of Food & Wine on the best streets for food across the country, and in Los Angeles he calls out Sawtelle Boulevard. He pays specific attention to Soba Sojibo, Seoul Sausage, Tsujita, and Kiriko. [F&W via LAist]

OC— Those behind Haven Gastropub, with locations in Pasadena and Orange, promised to continue the legacy of crafty beer place Provisions after The Bruery team pulled out. In addition to serving as a tasting room, bottle shop and specialty market, Provisions will also add a coffee bar operated by Costa Mesa-based Portola Coffee Lab. Right now management is looking to open later this month at 143 N. Glassell Street in Orange. [EaterWire]
