A Noteworthy Father's Day Brunch: Brews, Chefs, Roasters

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Dads are often stuck in their ways of drinking poor drip coffee, standard American beer, and simple diner breakfasts. There's a nifty event going on this coming Father's Day from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. where Firestone Walker and Food GPS are putting together craft breweries and local coffee roasters, along with local chefs, for a "collabrewtive" brunch in the Arts District.

The beer-coffee duos will pit Firestone Walker with Intelligentsia, Golden Road with Handsome Coffee, Eagle Rock Brewery with Tierra Mia, Beachwood Brewing with Portola Coffee, Cismontane with Caffe Luxxe, and Ladyface with LAMILL. In addition to the special coffee beers, each brewery is bringing along another beer to taste.

This unique collaboration won't go without some food from the likes of Genevieve Gergis & Ori Menashe (Bestia), Daniel Mattern & Roxana Jullapat (Cooks County), Zoe Nathan (Huckleberry), Jason Travi (littlefork), John Sedlar (Rivera), and Steve Samson & Zach Pollack (Sotto). In all, a good time to hang out with dad, or just with friends on a Sunday afternoon. Tickets cost $50 presale (kids half off) or $60 at the door. [ELA]
