Across the street from the Westside Pavilion, the very delayed Maddy's, the vegan cafe from those behind defunct Madeleine Bistro in Tarzana, is still preparing for its official launch. Chef Dave Anderson held a soft opening on May 12, testing out plant-based sandwiches, salads, and a wide variety of desserts from ice cream (rocky road, amaretto, caramel, dark chocolate, vanilla, milk chocolate, mint chip, cheesecake, chocolate brownie, pina colada) to strawberry tarts to cheesecake and cannoli. All vegan. Opening date still tbd but hours of operation will run Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
