For those who missed New York City export the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck last fall, you're in luck. Just in time for summer, partners Doug Quint and Bryan Petroff are back in LA by popular demand, swirling cups and cones of soft serve cult favorites Salty Pimp, Cococone, Bea Arthur, Godzilla, Mermaid Sundae, plus root beer floats made with root beer from Margo's Bark here in LA, and a few other surprises.
So, now the question is, where to get the goods? June 1: Heath Ceramics (noon to 4 p.m), Lindy & Grundy (6 to 10 p.m); June 2: TBA (noon to 4 p.m.), Faultline Bar (6 to 10 p.m.); June 3: Tag-along with Ludo Truck (NBC Universal, noon to 4 p.m.), Myung In Dumplings (3109 W. Olympic Blvd. 7 to 10 p.m.); June 4: Cakemix (noon to 4 p.m.), Tag-along with Kogi BBQ (TBD location, 6 to 10 p.m.).

And on a potentially exciting news note, it's likely that BGIC is in LA to stay. On the subject of a permanent shop or truck here in Los Angeles, Quint explains, "We'd like to have several shops and a full-time, year-round truck in Los Angeles. There is no exact timeline for opening in Los Angeles, because it's important to us that our New York shops have a lengthy track record of success before we start into new territories. For Big Gay Ice Cream, everything seems to happen when it's supposed to- but we hope that the LA expansion begins to happen relatively soon."
