Settebello Pizzeria Preps for June Foray into Marina del Rey

New, 14 comments

Settebello, the chainlet of Neapolitan pizzerias with prior locations in Utah, Vegas, and one LA locale in Pasadena, is shacking up inside Marina Marketplace in Marina del Rey. Maybe making up for the lost Antica Pizzeria?

Settebello fires up Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN) certified pies, which essentially means that the raw ingredients in the handmade pies need to meet rigorous standards. In this case, San Marzano tomatoes, flour from Naples, prosciutto cotto and crudo from Parma, Parmesan from Modena, plus domestic salame from Fra'Mani in Berkeley. Also, mozzarella must be pulled from fresh milk or buffalo milk. Both version are available at Settebello.

Pizzas, simply topped with basic but high quality ingredients (no crazy constructions going on here), are fired in one minute at 900°. Salads and a few sides round out the short menu. To drink there will be a full bar with beer and Italian wine. Look for a launch around the week of June 10.
