Dar Maghreb, once Hollywood temple of Moroccan cuisine, has been down for the count since last fall. But, come July, the opulent eatery and event space will be reborn as Acabar, a restaurant from Frederic et Nicolas Meschin and GM Sue Choi of romantical French restaurants The Little Door and Little Next Door. None other than Octavio Becerra (Palate Food & Wine) will run the French kitchen, with the cocktail show flavored by partners Julian Cox and Josh Goldman of Soigné Group LLC.
Management describes Acabar as "a haven for the 'gypsetters' who find inspiration and comfort in the exotic." Becerra's "global local" menu is rooted in France with inspiration from along the spice trail, and cocktails will follow suit. Exciting. [EaterWire]
