If the scene at RivaBella is any indication, conjoined eatery Chi-Lin — also a work brought to West Hollywood by IDG and designed by Studio Collective — is likewise set to cause a stir on The Sunset Strip. Imagine a similar such version of RivaBella, though devoted to Hong Kong cuisine, with an Asian-inspired dining room illuminated by 300 suspended lanterns and a bar/lounge defined in reds and jet black.
Estimated to commence service next week, Chi-Lin will offer culinary consultant Cecile Tang's (JOSS) previously teased New Chinese (think contemporary takes on classic Chinese dishes) plates, which also involve Peking duck, Aberdeen Alaska King Crab, and Leaves of Wild Yam. Following in theme, bar manager Aaron Alvarez (Soho House, Plan Check) is responsible for cocktails like the Hot & Sour Martini (tequila, yellow Chartreuse, lemon, Serrano chili, dried Chinese plum) and Kowloon Cooler (Jasmine liquor, rum, shiso, fresh lime, and prosecco).
