Petty Cash Taqueria Replace Playa on Beverly Boulevard

Over the weekend Eater received a tip that restaurateur Bill Chait's replacement for Playa was on the verge of its debut, and last night a separate reader noted that valet was positioned outside the restaurant and lights were on behind papered windows. Here now an invite to Petty Cash Taqueria's launch. (A quick Google search links Petty Cash to Playa's old address on Urbanspoon.) Based on the invite, here one will find "LA's best chefs," at least one of which is from Baja, and "LA's top mixologists," at least one of which is Julian Cox (Eater saw him behind the bar at the restaurant). Previews are planned for the next few Thursdays but attendees must have a secret password to attend. Sign up on Petty Cash's website for a space and the word of pass.
