This past Sunday, Harry Lewis, actor and founder of local (and slowly diminishing) American diner chain Hamburger Hamlet, passed away at age 93. At its peak, Lewis operated 24 Hamlet locations, but he sold the restaurant group in 1987 for $33 million. Lewis continued on with Kate Mantilini until his retirement in 2009 when sons David and Adam took control of operations. [ELA]
