B-Rod Reviews Outback Steakhouse in Glendale

New, 37 comments

Is B-Rod trying to follow in the footsteps of Marilyn Hagerty's famed Olive Garden review? Because this week she files on ... Outback Steakhouse in Glendale, giving out one lone star. Right off the bat Besh wants you to know that Outback is NOT Australian, despite marketing efforts which lead one to believe as much. With its Bloomin Onion and calorie-laden dishes, B-Rod finds that there's reason Americans take to the chain:

Yet it was hard to deny, when those shrimp arrived, that they were pretty good: well-seasoned, fat, cooked pretty much perfectly. The puce-colored dipping sauce accompanying them was salty and slutty and gross — or drunk-food delicious, depending upon your mood. You can say that about almost anything at Outback Steakhouse.
She compares the Toowoomba pasta to eating a bowl of "cream-and-seafood-flavored buttercream icing," and despite feeling "like death for hours afterward," she concedes that the seafood tasted "fresh and sweet; it was harder to stop shoveling into my mouth than I'd like to admit." [LAW]
