Laurent Quenioux Behind Menu at Etchea, Coming to Two Downtown Spaces This Summer

Etchea is a forthcoming neighborhood bakery and cafe opening in two downtown locations this summer. The first, slated to debut in July, is headed to 2280 S. Figueroa St., and the second (pictured above), is underway on S. Hope Street in the Grand Promenade building to launch in August, says LA Downtown News. Chef Laurent Quenioux (Bistro LQ) is behind the seasonal Basque menu of sandwiches, salads, soups, tbd entrees, and desserts. Also aligned with this project is John Baptiste Garacochea (Pioneer Bakery), Linda Griego (Engine Co. No. 28), and Christine Splichal (Patina Restaurant Group). Not a shabby group of partners at all. The S. Hope location will offer about 50 seats and serve daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
