Look familiar? It's the old Chego! space chef Roy Choi left behind when he relocated to Chinatown. Next up comes Phorage, a Vietnamese restaurant from chef Perry Cheung that uses locally sourced ingredients. Previously, Cheung was part of ROC Star's opening team, but before that he was, for a hot minute, at the now defunct Rama, which is becoming Mercado. And before that he was in the kitchen at SF's The Slanted Door (known for its mod Vietnamese cuisine).
Anyway, those looking for an early taste can check out Cheung and chef Chris Oh from Seoul Sausage who are cooking together at 'this is not a pop up' from June 14 to 16. Their menu is viewable here. [EaterWire]
