WEST LA— Kaveh Karimi (Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen) just posted signage for The Doughroom, his imminent New American restaurant on Overland cheffed by DJ Olsen and Eddie Hah. Right now Karimi is looking to open in about three weeks. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— Portland's wildly popular Salt & Straw ice cream, known for its super fun farm to cone flavors (there's also a whole beer collab happening) is going to be served at one Los Angeles locale starting this coming Friday. Hit up Joan's on Third for scoops of Meyer Lemon Buttermilk Custard with Blueberries, Sea Salt Ice Cream with Caramel Ribbon, Stumptown Coffee with Bourbon, plus more.
