Patricia Tsai's beloved chocolate shop, Chocovivo, is putting together the final pieces before it can open to the public during the first week of July. Formerly situated on Abbot Kinney, the retail store along Washington Boulevard will sell high quality bean-to-bar chocolates that are uniquely stone ground in-house and don't use milk or soy in the process. Tsai worked on a special relationship with a grower in Mexico to exclusively use one farm's cacao beans for the mini chocolate factory at Chocovivo.
In addition to the signature coarse-ground bars, there will be take-home powders and chocolate drinks that can be enjoyed onsite. Think hot chocolate with water, milk, or even almond water or almond milk for a cafe-like experience. Finally, Tsai will eventually host chocolate-making and pairing classes.
