From those behind Santa Monica breakfasty waffle hub Bru's Wiffle comes Bru's Counter, with a banner up on Santa Monica Boulevard near Overland in Century City. According to early signage, this will be a place for "grilled crispy chicken sandwiches" prepared on a wood-fired grill and "farm fresh salads." Management says to expect similar dishes as served at Bru's Wiffle (which could mean an especially long list of sweet/savory waffles, panini, salads, bowls, burritos, burgers, soups, wraps, and definitely dessert), but rather than going for the breakfast and lunch crowd, the Counter will do lunch and dinner. Look for a launch in the next few months. [EaterWire]
