Celtic Eatery The Wilde Thistle Underway in West LA

The Wilde Thistle, a new Celtic-inspired cafe coming together within a new mixed use development at Palms and Motor, sounds promising. It's a project from Caity Wallace who got her start with two tea houses and a pub in Tampa, Florida, and who eventually went on to open Wilde Thistle in Ashland, Oregon. Each business offered her line of house-baked scones. Having since relocated back to LA, selling her baked goods at local farmers markets, Caity is resurrecting The Wilde Thistle brand with a neighborhood eatery focused on this short list of British fare from tea and crumpets to toasted cheese sandwiches (plus vegan and gluten-free options). A more formal pub menu with beer and wine is planned for the future. For those who have mourned the loss of Santa Monica's Tudor House (now Taberna Arros y Vi), The Wilde Thistle sounds like a solid substitute, hopefully to soft open by August 1 pending inspections.
