Public School 805, the offshoot of Public School 612 and the newer Public School 310 from Bob Spivak (The Grill on the Alley, Daily Grill), is set to school The Promenade at Westlake on June 17. But, ahead of the game, the restaurant is already prepped for its closeup.

A comfortable lunch and dinner place with a wide selection of slightly more innovative American bites that get the California seasonal treatment, Thousand Oaks native, executive chef Phil Kastel (Public School 310), is feeding the 126-seat gastropub. There's a healthy list of 24 craft beers on tap and 16 by bottle, in addition to speciality cocktails and wine on tap. Similar in design to the popular Culver City branch, see the open kitchen, long bar and mix of booths and communal tables. Hours of operation will run daily from 11:30 a.m. until midnight.
