Taco Beach Hits Long Beach; Sugar Factory to Hollywood

New, 2 comments

LONG BEACH— Long Beach's south of the border and surf inspired Taco Beach opened its third location on June 2. The brightly lit cantina a few blocks from Cal State Long Beach is plating up a Mexi-Cali menu of tacos, burritos and fajitas. There's also close to 20 flat screens to catch the game. HOLLYWOOD— Sugar Factory, a self-described "MTV meets Willy Wonka" candy store with locations in New York and Vegas, is opening its seventh shop in the Hollywood & Highland center, also home to that sugar behemoth, Sweet!. But, as compared to Sweet!'s 30,000 square feet, Sugar Factory will occupy 2,500 square feet between three levels. Still not tiny for a shop selling candy. Sure, there will be a mix of old school and new school favorites, but also milkshakes and sundaes. Sugar Factory is actually most known for an item called a "Couture Pop," which is this thing right here. Kim K is a fan. [EaterWire]
