Itching for another round of Coachella? Then perhaps Las Vegas' first annual Life is Beautiful indie music meets food festival has the right recipe for you. Think of it as a West Coast version of Brooklyn's Great GoogaMooga fest, but with a way stronger music line up — The Killers, Beck, Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Capital Cities — and a mix of many LA and LV big time chefs like Bruce Bromberg (Blue Ribbon), Michael Mina (Michael Mina, SF), Chris Cosentino (Incanto, SF), Jet Tila (The Charleston), Michael Symon (Lola, OH), Charlie Palmer (Aureole, NY), Susan Feniger (Border Grill), David Myers (Comme Ca), Todd English (Olives), Marcel Vigneron, and more listed here.

It sounds really pretty awesome and will take place October 26 and 27 on the redeveloping Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. Like Coachella, you can snag GA or VIP tix and thankfully two day passes are $159.50 and $349.50, respectively. Yes, you'll still have to book a hotel and fly or drive out there but if you reserve a room far enough in advance it shouldn't be too pricey. Anyway, organizers are still hamming out details and bringing in additional LA chefs, but stay tuned for more to come. [EaterWire]
