West Hollywood's iconic Sunset Marquis, a boutique hotel dating back to the 1960s, made popular by its music-inclined clientele, is revamping its lush, oft overlooked indoor/outdoor restaurant. Management has tapped east coast chef Michael Schlow of Top Chef season one, also owner of several acclaimed Boston-area restaurants, to serve as "head chef" at Cavatina — a forthcoming Mediterranean eatery which replaces RESTAURANT later this summer.
Schlow, a chef who has received both Food & Wine and James Beard distinctions, is kicking off his LA adventure with a multi-course meal on July 31 benefiting Inner-City Arts. Tickets cost $225 here. [EaterWire]
