Welcome to our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographer Elizabeth Daniels visits some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, Brite Spot, for Greasy Spoons Week.

Elizabeth Daniels fixes her lens on Echo Park's long established Brite Spot diner, which dates all the way back to 1949. Less than a decade ago restaurateur/decorator Dana Hollister (Villains Tavern, Cliff's Edge) purchased the iconic retro cafe, cleaning it up to restore its vintage glamour. Here's the scenes yesterday morning. A relatively packed, cozy dining room studded with diners refueling via pancakes, eggs, and chef/GM Darby Aldaco's epic oversized slabs of pie in flavors like chocolate caramel banana creme and salted honey. ·All Greasy Spoons Week Coverage [~ELA~]
