The ramen wars keep brewing on Sawtelle, now home to a grand total of seven noodle shops within a two block stretch. Welcome Daikokuya to the fray, the popular Little Tokyo spot that's recently expanded eastward before hitting Little Osaka. At the moment the place is only soft open, serving from 5 p.m. to midnight, but management plans to serve lunch within a few months.

A grand opening is planned for September, so it looks like Daikokuya is trying to gingerly break into the market, scoping out clientele and making sure things are consistent before potential lines form, just like they do in Downtown.
