Talk about a room with a view. And, hey, need a place to watch the fireworks on July 4th? Perhaps Nikita, open as of yesterday, is your spot. Especially that spacious rooftop patio, which is sure to be a white hot hit this summer.
Malibu could use fresh dining options, and Nikita, the new Mediterranean/Italian number owned by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, is aiming high to do just that. An impressive list of players will handle food and drink, from Michelin-starred chef Massimiliano Blasone to the world's first tea sommelier Karl Kessab to reputed New York cocktail king Greg Seider.
It's interesting to note that the same furniture used outside at next-door neighbor Nobu is used inside at Nikita, and those furnishings fit on par with the restaurant's overall straightforward blonde look from dining room to bar. While OpenTable has jumped to action, tables are available starting July 15. But, the move in a situation like this is to just roll on over and grab a seat at the bar.
