Thanks to a "significant investment" from private equality firm Brentwood Associates, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar (formerly Lazy Dog Cafe), the casual American chain by honcho Chris Simms, is gearing up for even more growth. Since debuting in 2003, Simms has opened 12 SoCal locations and, going forward, plans to expand the brand with three eateries in 2014. Next up Lazy Dog marks its foray into NorCal with a restaurant headed to Concord this fall. [EaterWire]
