CULVER CITY— Chef Evan Funke's longgggg awaited Bucato is finally set to open at 5 p.m on Wednesday and the resy line (310-876-0286) goes live at 9:30 a.m. Right now same day reservations only. This is the former 3,400-square-foot Beacon space in Culver City, which includes substantial outdoor dining via two patios and a glassed-in "pasta laboratorio." In addition to pasta, expect seasonal small plates prepared in the restaurant's wood-fired oven. See here things you might eat come Wednesday. [Urban Daddy]
HOLLYWOOD— It's still early in the game, but Tavern on Hollywood, once Osaka, is being sold to a new party. More to come. [EaterWire]
WEST HOLLYWOOD— Seems like doughnuts are all the rage these days, whether baked, fried, or cronut-ified. In any event, old school staple Tasty Donuts, around for more than two decades at 8120 Santa Monica Blvd., is closing doors July 28. The silver lining here is that Tasty is going to resurface late fall in a new location just down the block at 8205 Santa Monica Blvd. The old Tasty locale will be redeveloped into a new mixed use building. [WEHOville]
AROUND TOWN— Those behind Sticky Fingers Doughnuts are currently negotiating space for their first LA shop. Until then, score their hot chocolate and salted caramel doughnuts, among other fun flavors, at the Thursday 7th & Fig Farmers Market, and the Sunday Melrose Place Market. [EaterWire]
