WEST HOLLYWOOD— The fate of Santa Monica Boulevard's The Palm restaurant is uncertain, and WEHOville attempts to shed light on the matter. Although a rep for the chain says "The Palm will remain at 9001 Santa Monica Blvd. for the foreseeable and distant future," the restaurant's landlord counters that the building which houses The Palm will be leveled to make room for a new mixed use complex. And at a Planning Commission meeting, an agent for the project said The Palm would not renew its lease and was scouting spaces nearby. Meanwhile, supposedly another restaurant will open once the new mixed use structure is complete. [WEHOville]
ECHO PARK— Tomorrow Valerie Gordon is launching her new Eastside bakery and cafe, Valerie Echo Park. Remember, this is the former site of Delilah Bakery. Hint: Salted caramel croissants could be happening, so plan your sugar intake accordingly. [EaterWire]
AROUND TOWN— During the month of August, donate a dog accessory to any SusieCakes bakery location and score two for one cupcakes. [EaterWire]
SOUTH BAY— Custom pizza joint PizzaRev shacks up in El Segundo (460 N. Sepulveda Blvd.) with its fourth location on August 2. [EaterWire]
