Chef Thomas Ortega of contemporary Mexican restaurant Ortega 120 in Redondo Beach is building out Amor y Tacos in his hometown of Cerritos. Not dissimilar to his first effort, Ortega is planning a menu of tacos, American comfort plates with a Mexican spin, and traditional Mexican dishes with a twist. Doritos chilaquiles just might be a thing that's happening. Amor y Tacos will be divided between a dining room and cantina, right now the eatery is on schedule to launch mid-August. [EaterWire]
