German chef Hans Röckenwagner is spreading the pretzel love from Santa Monica/Venice/Mar Vista to The BW, an upscale new mixed use complex at Wilshire and Barrington, slated to launch September 15. 3 Square Cafe, Röckenwagner's California-style restaurant and bakery with subtle Austrian impact (spatzle, Julius Meinl coffee), has signed on to open a 1,500 square foot restaurant with a 12-seat bar and 700 square foot patio. Hours of operation to run 6 a.m to midnight Sunday to Thursday, and 6 a.m to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. There will indeed be booze here, and likely a full day of food from breakfast through dinner, based on hours of operation.
