From the team behind Rush Street and City Tavern —Ken Kaufman, Brian McKeaney and Dave Northrup — comes Roadside Eats, the under construction fast casual Southern flavored sandwich and salad joint opening later this summer at the Arclight complex in Hollywood. Inspired by old school Southern roadside counters, Roadside Eats will manifest as a casual 2,000 square foot eatery defined by a bright green and gray palette with a 16-seater outdoor patio.
Chef Northrup is working on his bill of fare, and so far that includes sandwiches stuffed with pulled pork, slow cooked brisket, barbecue chicken, pecan fried chicken, and applewood-smoked tri tip. But, because this is Los Angeles, any of the aforementioned can be ordered greens-style, which just means that meat will be served over salad. Other salad options are designed by chef Jessica Christensen of City Tavern, available from the restaurant's deli case, such as watermelon and edamame, and baby kale and roasted butternut squash. Finally, handheld fried pies, vanilla soft serve, and cookies for dessert. Craft beer by bottle and draft.
