The brick building that once houseed a comic book store is getting revamped into Gravlax, a new restaurant from Arda Koca and Lars Magnus Stefansson, who was the former chef of Ken Hansen's high-end Scandinavian restaurant, Scandia on Sunset. The duo recently applied to Culver City for a 41 beer and wine license for the 1,500 square foot space just around the corner from the newish outpost of Shojin.

It looks like much of the ground work is finished at the interior details are getting put into place, with smooth walls and counter tops getting prepped. No details yet on the menu, but it won't be a surprise to see cold-cured salmon.
