Downtown's ambitious Towne Food & Drink ceased operation last March after an eight month stint on 9th Street between Flower and Figueroa. The sizable 7,000-square foot contemporary American restaurant become the property of Coastal Luxury Management's David Bernahl and Rob Weakley (they're the guys behind Pebble Beach Food & Wine, Los Angeles Food & Wine, and they also operate two Monterey-based restaurants and a brewery), and now LA Downtown News reports that their forthcoming eatery is named Faith & Flower.
Towne's 200-seat dining room will be reformatted into a more quaint space that seats 140, and as a whole the new restaurant will pay tribute to Downtown LA's renaissance periods in the early 1900s and present day. Faith & Flower is expected to debut late fall with farm-to-table cuisine and 1900s influenced drinks.
