MONTROSE— After selling her seasonal baked goods at farmers markets for the past three years, Denise Assad is preparing to open Bountiful Bakery in an undisclosed Montrose location early next year. See her menu. [LAmag]

AROUND TOWN— SIV over at the LAT says that three LA restaurants are serving "good, even great" Maine lobster dishes: Jar, Hinoki & the Bird, and Chinois on Main. Although she contends, "It's not the same as eating it fresh out of the water in New England — the flavor is more muted ..." [LAT]

BEVERLY HILLS— Bouchon Bakery is observing its second birthday on August 17 with $2 macarons. Also, new to the shop are cold pressed juices (one fruit and one veg offered daily) and cold brew Equator coffee drinks (there's a bottled vanilla latte made with house-made vanilla syrup). [EaterWire]
