BLT Steak is presently down for the count and, as previously mentioned, Victor Drai will have something to do with the venue's next incarnation. Drai shuttered his namesake restaurant atop the W Hotel in Hollywood earlier this summer, with promises to reopen on Sunset Boulevard. However, instead of Drai's 2.0, the nightlife honcho is partnering with ESquared Hospitality (parent company of BLT Steak) to bring a steak concept called Rare to the Sunset Boulevard building this fall. It sounds like there will be some form of nightlife element involved here and Drai, who is no neophyte to the LA restaurant scene (he opened Drai's on La Cienega 20 years ago), describes his impending restaurant as "our interpretation of today's modern, sexy steakhouse."
