Sweet Rose 3 Weeks Out, Belcampo Lands at GCM, More

New, 6 comments

SANTA MONICA— Sweet Rose Creamery's new Pico location looks nearly built out, with just a few interior finishing touches that need to be put in. According to staff on site, the sweets and bake shop will be ready to open in about three weeks. [EaterWire]

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY— Food GPS's prelude to the Dish of the Week includes a little tidbit about the crowds of Chengdu Taste: "nearly enough animosity to incite a fist fight. That's what happened when one man squatted at a table of 10 for nearly an hour, and potential diners practically bum rushed staffers to overtake the table. Thankfully, the rest of the solitary diner's party arrived...staffers restored order, and they fed everybody." Get there early to beat the wait. [Food GPS]

DOWNTOWN— Belcampo, the sustainable meat butcher from the Bay Area, is landing at Grand Central Market, reports Daily Dish. It's just another feather in the cap for the rapidly reforming food emporium. This location will have the butchery's full line of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, goat, duck, goose, squab and other types of poultry. [LAT]
