Top Chef and The Taste alum Brian Malarkey confirms to the LA Times that he is opening a restaurant inside the Mondrian hotel on Sunset, as previously speculated. Although Eater heard it would be an outpost of Herringbone, his seasonal seafood place in La Jolla, Malarkey tells the Times that he hasn't yet decided the concept (which seems unlikely), but that the eatery will open on December 31.
Malarkey operates a gang of restaurants in San Diego, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Austin, Tx.
