A yet-to-be named bar in the former Largo on Fairfax looks to near a complete transformation. Instead of the single story venue, the performance space now has high ceilings, a back VIP mezzanine, and a small stage up front. There's a bar in the back lined with guitar amplifiers, as well as a kitchen. This is the work of Bryan Ling and Jordan Buky, who's been involved with brand management and some of the DJ performances at Agency that's now become a loft at Vanguard. According to a conditional use permit and ABC license, Buky's Hollywood Royalty, LLC controls a 47 liquor license, something rare in the neighborhood with only three such permits allowed in the past two decades.
According to the CUP, the 3,150 square foot area will contain 142 seats, along with a small eight seat outdoor patio (probably for smoking), with full alcohol service from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. on the weekends. There's an allowance for live entertainment, making this much like a mini version of Sunset Boulevard's House of Blues.
The interior has a pretty fresh look with skylights, open rafters, brick walls, and vintage-looking chandeliers. Workers inside don't know when it will open, but from the progress of construction, it couldn't be more than a few months out. [Eaterwire]
