Don't overeat at Alex's Lemonade on September 28 because chef Jet Tila (The Charleston) is hosting LA's first Thai Food Festival at Paramount Studios on September 29 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. It's exciting that Andy Ricker of Portland's Pok Pok will prepare food alongside Sang Yoon (Lukshon), David LeFevre (MB Post, Fishing with Dynamite), Kris Yenbamroong (Night + Market), Susan Feniger (Street), Evan Kleiman (KCRW's "Good Food"), and Tila himself.
But a Thai food festival wouldn't be authentically complete without the real stuff, and to fill that void Jitlada, Ruen Pair, Pa Ord, Thai Society, Thai Nakorn, Bhan Kanom Thai, Lum Ka Naad, Sapp Coffee Shop, Siam Sunset, plus a bunch of others will serve traditional Thai dishes. Also, get excited for umbrella painting, Thai fruit carving, and a Muay Thai demo. GA tickets cost $50, and VIP runs $75 for early access at 3 p.m. and preferred parking. [EaterWire]
