The Greyhound Arriving Late Fall in Highland Park

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Taking over a former pupuseria on Figueroa Street, The Greyhound has been working furiously on the build out of the interior over the summer, planning for a late Fall or early Winter debut. Founded by Matt Glassman (Father's Office), Ryan Julio, and James Bygrave, the casual bar & tavern concept will serve craft beer, Old World wine, and a small, curated list of spirits to an under served stretch of Highland Park.

The development of the space can be catalogued on their active Tumblr blog, as well as their Facebook page, which also shows some early menu prototypes like an arugula salad and chicken wings. The menu is being put together by Gabe Gordon (Beachwood BBQ), and intends to have a decidedly American bar food slant, like burgers and sandwiches, not so much the gastropub fare prevalent around the city.

Should be a great addition to the area as this comes off the heels of the recently opened Sonny's Hideaway and the forthcoming Donut Friend.
