Venice denizens might have noticed the somewhat recent street art addition at Gjelina on the side of the restaurant along Milwood. That mashup wolf cheetah (this guy) is the work of artist and actress Diana Garcia, and as it turns out she's in the process of opening a new Abbot Kinney eatery called Another Kind of Sunrise with boyfriend Greg Rogove. It's their first ever food venture. Ideally, they're hoping to debut at the end of August and just recently Diana and Incubus singer Brandon Boyd decorated the restaurant's exterior as seen here. The area, as pictured above, is being designed by NY-based DXA Studio.

While the menu is still coming together, Another Kind of Sunrise will serve as a cereal-centric takeaway cafe stocking high quality pre-made cereals (corn flakes, rice krispies, raisin bran, frosted flakes), plus paleo granola, acai bowls, and coconut chia porridge. In addition to organic whole milk, AKoS will also offer almond mylk from Venice's local Mylk Man, who makes one of the city's best coconut water almond mylks. Juice from nearby Moon Juice, too. Patrons will have the option to top cereal with a variety of healthy add-ons like seasonal fruit, sprouted nuts, flax seeds, goji and golden berries, raw honey, coconut, hemp hearts, and cocoa nibs. Handsome Coffee will supply beans, with teas by Distira Tisanes. [EaterWire]
