Kula Revolving Sushi Will Soon Encircle Diners on Sawtelle

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

There's more cheap sushi coming to Sawtelle, this time in the form of the revolving kaiten concept, Kula, which already has an outlet in Little Tokyo. This time, it's the space next to Beard Papa's in the large multi-story shopping mall in the heart of Little Osaka.

They're currently hiring, per an announcement on the front window posted in Spanish, though there are English signs listed at the already-spinning Downtown spot. There's an ABC notice as well, showing a 41 beer-and-wine license.

There's already Daichen inside the Olympic Collection for lovers of the conveyor-belt variety of raw fish, which is actually quite popular in Japan. Kula's growing numbers have already reached Irvine, Brea, Torrance, and the Laguna Hills. No word on the opening date of the Westside Kula, though it doesn't look like it'll be more than a few weeks at this point.
