Pigging Out at Jar; Son of a Gun's Low Country Boil

MID-CITY— Wilshire restaurant alum Nyesha Arrington is back in action cooking at Jar with chef Suzanne Tracht on August 18. They're going to roast a Duroc pig for a porcine evening, family-style, with pork belly, roasted pig, sides, and banana cream pie. The meal costs $55 a head, call Jar for a resy. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN— Though soft open for some time now, the Arts District's farm to fork market, Urban Radish, is holding an official launch party that involves complimentary breakfast for the public on August 17 at 9 a.m. Expect coffee and baked goods from Bread Lounge and BreadBar. [ELA]

OC— Early Bird in Fullerton, originally cheffed by Joseph Mahon, is expanding to Yorba Linda (21550 Yorba Linda Blvd.) with a full service restaurant, coffee shop, and roaster. Going forward management is looking to launch two more North OC independent coffee roasters in the next year. [EaterWire]
