The vegan scene on the Westside is getting a boost with Sage Organic Vegan Bistro, the popular Echo Park eatery that's now soft open at Culver Crossroads. The extensive meat-free restaurant has everything from a hot pizza menu at lunch featuring pesto artichoke and barbecue pineapple, to a more composed bill of fare for dinner, which includes eggplant arrabiatta, portobello mushroom steak, and tempeh bacon with garlic sage butter.

In addition, find a variety of vegan ice cream treats via KindKreme, plus shakes, banana splits, and smoothies, along with fresh juices, and coffee drinks.

Brunch service boasts a Mexican-centric selection of chilaquiles, burrito with mole, potato hard shell tacos, and a few other standard items like a gluten-free waffle and chia French toast. According to Facebook, a beer garden is also in the works. Current hours are Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. (until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday). Saturday and Sunday brunch starts at 9 a.m.
